India, US explore stronger tech supply chain ties ahead of Pax Silica Summit

India and the United States have explored avenues to deepen collaboration on resilient and trusted technology supply chains ahead of the two-day Pax Silica Summit, which begins in Washington on Thursday.

On Wednesday, S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), met Jacob Helberg, US Under Secretary of State and host of the Pax Silica initiative. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in strategic technology sectors and bolstering supply chain security.

According to the Indian Embassy in the US, both sides discussed partnerships in semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence adoption, and ensuring reliable access to critical minerals—key pillars for future technological and economic growth.

Krishnan is attending the second edition of the Pax Silica Summit, which brings together countries committed to building alternative and secure supply chains for critical minerals, a segment currently dominated by China.

The inaugural summit was held in December 2025, while India formally joined the initiative in February this year during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
