Nokia partners with Furukawa to accelerate Optical LAN in LATAM

Nokia announced its signing of a strategic alliance with Furukawa Electric, the leading company in network cabling, to accelerate optical LAN deployments across Latin America, starting with Brazil. Furukawa will incorporate Nokia’s optical networking equipment into its Laserway passive optical LAN solution, marketed by its partner ecosystem to the enterprise market.

Used in commercial buildings and campuses to provide local area network connectivity, optical LANs provide lower energy consumption, increased security, more scalable deployments and lower total cost of ownership than traditional copper-based solutions. Additionally, optical LANs are based on advanced optical fiber technologies, which provide ultra-high bandwidth to support multiple high bandwidth and critical applications for multiple use cases from manufacturing to healthcare and schools.

Additional information about the alliance can be found here. I have also included an image of the solution below my signature for your reference and use. Additional images can be found here. Please let me know if you have any questions.
