India future of trust predictions for 2022 and onwards

International Data Corporation (IDC) has published the IDC FutureScape : Worldwide Future of Trust 2022 Predictions — India Implications report. The hybrid work models have compelled enterprises to re-assess their enterprise strategies to ensure seamless and secure transition across both on-premises and cloud environments. Digital trust will act as the fundamental pillar to ensure the long-term resilience and success of businesses, moving forward.

“There is a marked shift in enterprise’s approach towards security, in the wake of expanding threat landscape. As perimeters dissolve, enterprise security strategy has evolved over the last few years and focus on a unified platform approach to encourage a single pane of glass view has intensified. There will be a stronger push towards the use of analytics, risk management, security integration, and automation for better decision-making process,” says Shweta Baidya, Senior Manager, Software & IT Services, IDC India.

In a bid to augment digital trust, organizations are prioritizing and supporting funding towards data security, privacy and compliance solutions. There is more openness across the ecosystem to share information and intelligence on advanced threats and risks; and work together as a unit, to preempt these attacks and take timely action.

Some of the key Trust predictions that will have a significant impact across the India ecosystem including technology buyers and suppliers in 2022 and beyond are:

Risk and trust: By 2026, 20% of India organizations will replace Net Promoter Score–like metrics with trust indices in RFPs to align traditional security and risk solutions with customer success, brand, and reputation.

Unified security first: By 2024, 35% of organizations in India will allocate half of its security budgets to cross-technology ecosystems/platforms designed for rapid consumption and unified security capabilities to drive agile innovation.

DX and security: By 2024, 22% of IT buyers with IT environments that span disparate locations, clouds, remote workers, and devices in India will turn to network security as a service to ensure consistent protection.
