Deutsche Telekom FTTH footprint reaches 3m households
Telekom Deutschland (TD), the domestic operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), has announced that the total number of homes that are able to connect to its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) has reached three million, after an additional 132,000 households were added to the footprint last month. Telekom is aiming to increase the total number of homes passed by its FTTH infrastructure, which enables maximum broadband speeds of 1Gbps, to ten million by 2024. In addition, the firm says that a total of 34.4 million homes can now access maximum data rates of up to 100Mbps and the number of 250Mbps-enabled lines has reached 26.4 million nationwide.
