5G coverage boost comes to more TPG Telecom brands

iiNet, TPG, Internode and Westnet have all received a significant 5G coverage boost as TPG Telecom flicks the switch on its 5G Standalone (SA) connectivity for more customers. Mobile customers across these brands will now see the 5G symbol on their devices more frequently, as 5G coverage jumps to 98 per cent population coverage across 12 of Australia’s largest cities and regions.

The coverage boost also means more consistent performance for 5G customers, enabling widespread 5G speeds in coverage areas.

“Switching on our 5G standalone network for iiNet, TPG, Internode and Westnet is a huge boost for our customers, who will now enjoy a superior mobile experience where they live, work and play,” said David Yeo, General Manager Wireless Access Networks.

“Customers can now see the full potential of our 5G standalone network and experience superior connectivity thanks to the reach of our national network.”

Compatible devices are required to connect to TPG Telecom’s 5G SA network. The iPhone 15 series is now enabled on the SA network, plus Android devices such as the Samsung S23 Ultra 5G and Google Pixel 7 Pro.

TPG Telecom’s 5G network is rapidly growing, with over 2,500 sites now live, connecting over 3,000 suburbs across Australia and with over 2.8 million devices on the network capable of using 5G.
