52 percent mobile connections found fraudulent, DoT
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on scrutinizing over 11.4 million active mobile phone connections, has uncovered a staggering 6 million cases of fraudulent connections.
Swiftly taking action, it has disconnected 5 million connections and is actively engaged in thwarting the remaining one million.
A coordinated effort involving the Reserve Bank of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, financial institutions, and the DoT is underway to identify and disrupt the sources of funding that fuel these criminal activities.
