20th edition of India Telecom 2023 held alongside IMC 2023

Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) organized 20th edition of India Telecom 2023 alongside the ongoing India Mobile Congress (IMC) in New Delhi.

The event was attended by potential buyers from countries across the globe. More than 40 delegates hailing from 16 countries attended India Telecom 2023. More than 160 Indian telecom companies showcased their state-of-the-art products and capabilities at the Atm-Nirbhar Bharat Pavilion set up by TEPC as a part of this event.

The inaugural session of India Telecom 2023 was attended by Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Chairman Digital Communications Commission and Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, Shri. P. Balaji, Vice Chairman, TEPC; Shri N.K Goyal, Chairman Emeritus Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association (TEMA), Shri Arun Gupta, DG, TEPC and more than forty delegates from various countries across the globe and numerous telecom industry leaders.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Chairman Digital Communications Commission and Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Government of India said, “India is at the cusp today and telecom is a sector where we hope to become self-reliant”

He further said that India’s 5G rollout is among the fastest in the world. The speed of broadband has increased many folds but the tariffs have been reduced to the lowest. India has the second largest telecom network in the world and has ‘surprised’ the world with the development of Indigenous 4G/5G technologies in a short span of time, he added.

Dr. Mittal said India has 100,000 startups today and it is a great opportunity for countries to collaborate with India. Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi launched the Make in India Program several years ago and we have seen a phenomenal degree of success in the manufacturing of telecom equipment and in the non-telecom areas as well, Secretary DoT added further.

In his address, P. Balaji said, “As our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, India continues to be the third largest tech start-up ecosystem globally, we need to create new business opportunities for the Indian manufacturers within the industry by encouraging the participation of more start-ups.”

“The R&D prowess of India is now being established and companies in India are making great leaps in customization, standardization and production for specific applications and looking forward to working with the world,” Balaji added.

Shri N.K Goyal, Chairman Emeritus Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association (TEMA) said that India is now gaining prominence as a telecom technology leader with its 4G and 5G stake, lowest tariff and fastest 5G rollout. He expressed gratitude towards Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi for his Make in India and Digital India initiatives and thanked Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister for Communications and Shri Devusinh Chauhan, MoS, Communications for their continued support.

India Telecom 2023 is a platform for the convergence of technologies and business exchange. This event has become ‘a must attend’ mega event for Telecom and IT Stakeholders as it encapsulates strategies and learning that transcend the two most important present-day industries having potential of unlocking huge demand for ICT services across multiple domains. It’s the place to network, meet and shape the future!
