IESA signs MoU with SEMI to link Indian semiconductor industry globally

India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) signed a MoU with chip association SEMI in Bengaluru, with an aim of developing the global connection of Indian semiconductor stakeholders.

The attempt is to help global semiconductor manufacturing and design supply chains to identify Indian semiconductor stakeholders.

SEMI is a global industry association of over 3,000 member companies representing semiconductor design and manufacturing supply chains.

The agreement was sealed in the presence of more than 200 IESA members on Wednesday, which will boost the two chip associations’ global connection with stakeholders in government, industry, supply chain and academia. This would further enable the collaboration forming new partnerships particularly focused on talent development.

The MoU addresses key areas such as manufacturing, design, skilling, research and development, academia and supply chains. It will also be responsible for enabling policies and will harness research data to further estimated goals.

Additionally, as per reports, the collaboration will facilitate joint events in India, which will be focused on talent mapping, skilling and practical knowledge enabling the sharing of pertinent updates and conducting webinars on policy issues and activities in the semiconductor domain, across the world.
