Xiaomi pulls backs android 10 update for Mi A3, third time in a row

Last week, Xiaomi started rolling out Android 10 updates for its Android One smartphone Mi A3. This was the third time that the company rolled out the update for the smartphone. Now, once again the Chinese smartphone maker has rolled back the update.

As reported by Gizmochina, Xiaomi rolled back the Android 10 update due to some bugs. Users complained of excessive battery drain, lag in the camera app and problems with fingerprint scanner after they updated the device. Presently, it is not clear when will the smartphone receive Android 10 update.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi A3 was launched last year and the smartphone got a price cut in January this year. After the price drop, the base variant that offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is now available at Rs 11,999, while the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage options are selling at Rs 14,999.

The Xiaomi Mi A3 offers a 6.08-inch HD+ screen of 1560x720p resolution with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. Being part of Google’s Android One initiative, Xiaomi Mi A3 runs on stock Android 9.0 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

Recently, a report by Statergy Analytics revealed that Xiaomi has become the third largest smartphone brand in the world. In the month of February, Xiaomi shipped 6 million smartphone units across the world. India has always been a key market for Xiaomi and its sales in the country would’ve played an integral part.

Xiaomi’s strategy in India has been about offering feature-laden smartphones at really competitive pricing. Even though Xiaomi — and everyone else’s — shipments across the world fell down drastically in February, overall the brand has gained over Huawei.
