Xiaomi Is Set To Launch Successor Of Its Most-Powerful Smartphone In India

Just last week, Chinese technology company Xiaomi launched two new smartphones — Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro — in its home country. Both handsets are expected to be announced in India as well as company’s India head Manu Kumar Jain has been promoting the phones much before the launch. However, a fresh report from GizmoChina has claimed that the duo will be available in India as Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro.

The GizmoChina report — that cites a source — says that the prices of both the handsets in India market will be “astonishing.”

Tipster Ishan Agarwal also recently pointed out that the two new Redmi smartphones — with model numbers M1903F10 and M1903F11 — are the two upcoming Poco smartphones in the country as Poco F1 has ‘E10’ in its model name.

To recall, Xiaomi Poco F1 was the cheapest handset in India to run on 2018’s flagship processor from Qualcomm — Snapdragon 845 with a starting price of Rs 20,999 when it was launched in August 2018.

However, now that Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is available in handsets, the title for the cheapest handset with 2019’s flagship processor from Qualcomm is held by OnePlus 7. The handset was launched earlier this month at a starting price of Rs 32,999, Just yesterday, OnePlus announced that the handset will go on sale on June 4 at 12 noon on both Amazon India and company’s official website Oneplus.in.

Touted as the ‘Flagship Killer 2.0’, the Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro, K20 handsets come with a gradient back design in Red and Blue colour options with a pop-up selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Both them have a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48MP primary camera however, the sensors used on both are different. While the K20 Pro makes use of the Sony IMX586 camera (f/1.75 aperture), the K20 has a Sony IMX582 sensor.

Another difference between the two is that the K20 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, however, the K20 equips the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC.―Gadgets Now
