We shall miss you, dear, dear Prem!

Prem Behl, the pioneer of industry and trade exhibitions is no more. As he was recovering from cancer, he contracted COVID-19 and breathed his last on December 7, 2020.

Prem Behl was the Chairman & Managing Director of Exhibitions India Group (EIG), a name synonymous with highly innovative and successful international exhibitions, events and conferences. An intrepid entrepreneur, Behl founded Exhibitions India Group in 1987 as a trade promotion organisation creating opportunities for investments, joint ventures and technology transfers. Initially, he took groups of Indian exhibitors to trade shows in Asia, then the rest of the world.

Behl was globally recognized for his path-breaking and visionary contributions to the exhibitions industry. Through his pioneering role, he set new standards to attract unparalleled levels of foreign and domestic investment inflows, generating new employment opportunities and changing lifestyles.

His friends at La Martiniere, Lucknow; Hindu College, Delhi and those within the telecom and cable industry shall miss his pleasant, soft and yet dynamic presence. Our team had an association with him ever since we released the first issue 27 years back. We shall all miss you Prem! RIP!
