Vodafone extends 5G to 1,000 beaches in Spain

Vodafone has deployed its networks 5G in coastal areas where it is expected that the largest population will be concentrated during the summer, such as Asturias, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Galicia, the Canary Islands, the Basque Country and the Region of Murcia.

Vodafone continues with its “real 5G” expansion program, especially in key periods in which higher concentrations of people connected to the antennas are expected. For example, last Easter it also promoted coastal areas, as well as rural areas, in what would be the first holiday with traffic levels similar to those of 2019 after two years of the pandemic.

Now, they focus mainly on the coast, adding 1,004 beaches in a total of 173 municipalities of the Spanish geography (mainly 10 communities: Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Euskadi, Catalonia, Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Murcia, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands) to its Vodafone 5G coverage map. In this way, between dips and dips you can be connected to fifth-generation mobile technology, which offers higher speed, lower battery consumption and lower latency among its advantages.

Vodafone deployment continues
The company It will reach 46% of the population and 1,000 municipalities nationwide this year. The plan, for the remainder of the year, is to reach 133 towns with more than 50,000 inhabitants, 605 towns between 1,000 and 50,000 and 245 municipalities with less than 1,000 inhabitants. The focus on rural or remote areas is being key in most operators and Vodafone will not be an exception.

With these deployments, the operator maximizes coverage and will provide a real 5G experience (5G SA or Standalone) to all customers who visit or live in these areas. Thanks to the 5G network, the inhabitants of these municipalities will have connectivity to download content at a speed three times higher, lower latency to view it and the possibility of having a greater number of devices connected simultaneously.
