Vivo To Launch Z-Series Smartphone In India Soon

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo will soon launch a new smartphone series in India, starting with the Vivo Z1 Pro. The series is expected to take on Samsung’s M-series, and the phone will directly go neck and neck with the Galaxy M40.

Just like Samsung’s philosophy of targeting the millennials with the M-series, Vivo’s Brand Strategy Director Nipun Marya said “The all-new Z series has been designed to empower millennials and fulfil the dynamic needs of the ‘Gen Z’.”

The Vivo Z1 Pro is expected to feature a 6.53-inch full HD display along with punch-hole display cutout for accommodating the front facing camera. The smartphone will be powered Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The smartphone will have a triple rear camera setup comprising a 16MP+8MP+2MP configuration. The front facing camera will have a 16MP sensor.

The smartphone will have a glossy and gradient finish design and a circular fingerprint sensor at the back. It will come without an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Vivo on Wednesday also announced an exclusive partnership with online marketplace Flipkart for selling its first Z-series smartphone.

Details on the pricing and availability of all variants in India have not been disclosed. Some reports, however, suggest that the smartphone might be priced at around Rs. 19,000 mark.―Livemint
