Vi appoints K.K. Maheshwari as Additional Director; D. Bhattacharya resigns

Vodafone Idea (Vi) announced that the board appointed K.K. Maheshwari, as an additional director with effect from March 3.

“D. Bhattacharya has resigned from the Board of the Company with effect from close of business hours on 2 March 2022, citing personal reasons. Based on recommendation of Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board has appointed K.K. Maheshwari, a nominee of Aditya Birla Group, as an Additional Director (Non-Executive and Non Independent) with effect from 3 March 2022,” Vi said in a regulatory filing.

Maheshwari is currently vice- chairman and non-executive director of UltraTech Cement Ltd. He has been with the Group for 36 years with several key leadership roles in chemicals, international trading, pulp and fibre, textiles and cement business.

“K.K. Maheshwari is not related to any other Director / KMP of the Company and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other authority,” the telco added in the filing.
