TRAI extends deadline for “Ease of doing business in telecom” paper

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline for submitting written comments and counter-comments on its consultation paper on “Ease of doing business in telecom and broadcasting sector”. The second and last deadline for comments is February 9, 2022, while the counter comments will be accepted till February 23.

“However, due to requests from stakeholders for extension of time for submission of comments, the last date for receiving written comments and counter comments was extended up to 19th January 2022 and 02nd February 2022 respectively,” TRAI said in the official circular.

“Keeping in view the current pandemic situation of the country and requests received from industry associations and stakeholders for further extension of time for submission of comments, it has been decided to further extend the last date,” the regulator said. “No further requests for extension would be considered.”
