TRAI Conducts Seminar On “Smartphone Usage” On 20.12.2018 At Guwahati

One of the important objectives of TRAl is to safeguard consumer interests and create consumer awareness. Towards this TRAI, inter-alia, organizes consumer outreach programmes, workshops and undertakes consumer awareness campaigns. Seminars are also organized for sharing of knowledge and experience on pressing issues of consumers’ concerns and on new technologies/services. In this series, TRAI organised Cl seminar on 20.12.2018 at Hotel-The Lily Hotel, G.S. Road. Guwahati, Assam to educate the stake holders about Smartphone and its usage. It was inaugurated by Or. B.C. Goswami, Vice Chancellor,Cotton University, Guwahati.

2. The seminar comprised five sessions. After the initial welcome and introduction of the subject to the audience by TRAI officers, distinguished speakers from lIT Guwahati, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Industry and TRAJ spoke on different aspects of smart phone starting from the journey smartphone has made from its inception to its present avatar with change of processor, operating system, hardware & software features over the years; the impact it has made in business health care. entertainment and other aspects of social life; safety and security issues of online applications VIZ. Facebook, Instagram, whats app etc; the role of mobile platforms including the mobile [;PPS like Mobile-Governance. Mobile- Payments in realizing the goal of Digital India.The audience was also educated about the mobile Apps namely TRAI Myspeed TRAI Mycall, TRAY ONO 2.0 apps and Analytic Portals developed by TRAI to empower consumers. Each session was followed by a lively interactive session wherein participants raised their doubts and concerns to session speakers which were aptly replied by the speakers and TRAI officers. – CT Bureau
