TN delegation in Taiwan to woo future investments

A delegation from Tamil Nadu Province, India met with Hon Hai Group Chairman Liu Yangwei in Taipei today to discuss Hon Hai’s presence in Tamil Nadu Province. Future investment plans and business layout.

Guidance Tamil Nadu, an investment promotion agency in Tamil Nadu, tweeted today that a high-level delegation led by S. Krishnan, Secretary-General of the Department of Industry, met with Chairman Liu Yangwei at the Hon Hai Group headquarters in Taipei today.

The delegation thanked Hon Hai Group for its long-term investment in Tamil Nadu, and discussed in detail the Hon Hai Group’s investment plans, especially in emerging industries, and pledged to fully support Hon Hai Group’s local development, the tweet said.

The delegation arrived in Taiwan on the 25th to attract investment and is expected to end the visit on the 30th. During this period, they will visit Taiwan’s electronics, electrical, textile, footwear and computer numerical control (CNC) manufacturers, and participate in a number of investment seminars to solve their questions about India and promote industrial cooperation.

Krishnan attended the National Day reception held by the Republic of China Office in Chennai on the 6th.

He said at the time that Tamil Nadu Province has listed Taiwan and the United States, Japan, South Korea and Singapore as its five major investment partners, and has established a special investment team to provide a complete set of services, and will release more preferential plans for Taiwanese businessmen .

Tamil Nadu Province is an important settlement of many Taiwanese industries in India. Wang Peiping, director of the Chennai office, said that there are currently 25 Taiwanese manufacturers based there, with an estimated total investment of more than 2 billion US dollars.

The Economic Times of India reported in August that an additional mobile phone factory built by Hon Hai Group near Chennai will also be put into operation due to the surge in sales of Apple mobile phones and the localization of high-end smartphone production. CNA
