Telefónica’s security biz taps Google cloud’s chronicle

Telefónica’s security business ElevenPaths is working with Google Cloud’s Chronicle to integrate Chronicle’s security analytics services into ElevenPaths’ managed security services for enterprises in Europe and Latin America.

The deal comes as Google Cloud makes an all-out push to support mobile network operators and advances its ongoing efforts to win more enterprise customers away from top cloud vendors Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

Chronicle started out as part of Google parent company Alphabet’s secretive X research lab, then launched as an independent security company in January 2018, and then merged with Google Cloud last summer. Its platform allows enterprises to quickly analyze massive datasets of security logs, network events, and other data.

Last year, Chronicle announced a couple of other partnerships with service providers including CriticalStart and Fishtech, both of which provide managed detection and response.

ElevenPaths partners with a ton of other security vendors and cloud providers and provides both managed security services and managed detection and response to corporations.

The companies say that by integrating Chronicle’s security analytics services into ElevenPaths’ managed services, customers will be able to improve threat detection and troubleshoot security alerts faster because of Chronicle’s ability to analyze telemetry at the speed of Google search. Additionally, because Chronicle’s platform can retain security telemetry for a long time, security analysts at ElevenPaths can more effectively investigate incidents.

The companies plan to build new joint offerings and release them later this year.
