Telecom Italia Considers Asset Sales Up To EUR 2 Billion
Telecom Italia is considering a plan to sell assets worth around EUR 2 billion to help reduce debt, La Repubblica reported. These include its data centres and consumer credit operations, as well as a stake in the towers company Inwit, according to the paper’s sources.
Telecom Italia agreed earlier this year a joint venture with Vodafone Italia to combine their towers. The merger would involve TIM selling a small stake in Inwit and also a refinancing operation that would help the operator collect a special dividend, the report said. That deal alone could generate EUR 1 billion for the company.
The company’s board is expected to consider the plan on 01 August.―Telecompaper
