Telcos Poised To Capitalise On Improving Industry Structure

The telecom industry structure is changing with operators looking to deleverage their balance sheets by selling non-core assets like fibres & towers. Operators are designing tariff plans to ensure they get maximum average revenue per user (ARPU) from customers. Telcos are expected to follow Jio’s lead in taking a price hike for smartphone customers from Q4FY20. Airtel, with its strong 4G subscriber addition, is well placed to capitalise on higher smartphone pricing.
