Czech operator T-Mobile has published a press update on its 5G network rollout, reporting that over the past month it has more than doubled its coverage footprint by deploying 270 new base stations to increase the on-air total to more than 600.
As a result of its network expansion, the company says that the 5G network is now available to 10.4% of the Czech population.
Further, by the end of this year, it is aiming to more than double that to serve over 25% of the population, providing mobile internet speeds of up to 1Gbps with a minimum latency of 1ms.
T-Mobile Czech Republic combines Ericsson and Huawei technologies in its 5G networks using the frequencies 1800MHz and 2100MHz and also claims to be the first Czech cellco operating at 700MHz, using new frequencies obtained in the recent licence auction. CommsUpdate
