Speedtech International Earns New ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Speedtech International Inc. earns the International Standards Organization’s most current ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

As a market leader in the manufacturing of hook & loop and specialty fasteners, Speedtech has become a key supplier to some of the nation’s leading manufacturers and industrial distributors. In support of these customers, Speedtech is always seeking to improve its processes and procedures. By earning the current ISO 9001:2015 Certification Standard, Speedtech continues to focus on the highest quality manufacturing, sales and customer service protocols.

What Is ISO and Why Are Standards Revised?
ISO (International Standards Organization) is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards. International standards give consistent, state-of-the-art, continually improved, process specifications for manufacturing products, providing services as well as ‘best practice protocols’ to help to make companies more efficient and effective. ISO requires annual audits and reviews, and revises standards every 5 years to remain a relevant tool. With increased access to information, globalization and high expectations from clients, revisions to the 9001 Standard addresses the complexity of the ever-changing marketplace.

What Are the Differences Between the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015 Standards?
The third party ISO auditing covers the “quality management systems of fabrication and distribution of ties, tapes and straps.” These systems ensure the highest quality, consistency and solid customer service in Speedtech’s manufacturing of the SPEEDWRAP® Brand hook & loop and specialty fasteners and distribution of VELCRO® Brand fasteners. The caliber of customer service, quality assurance, procurement, order processing, and documentation are all factors that are looked at. The new standard does not deviate from this focus, but now follows a new higher- level structure, making it easier for companies using complex management systems. The new ISO standard has an increased focus from a risk- based perspective, allowing companies to address issues before they arise.

What Does This Mean for Current and Prospective Customers of Speedtech?
The ISO 9001:2015’s progressive standards and increased focus on risk based thinking is beneficial for both Speedtech and their customers. All company processes and procedures are filtered through a rigorously preventative, proactive and simplified approach which strengthens the company while providing the most efficient, cost effective, high quality products and services for the client. By quickly keeping on top of current ISO standards, Speedtech does not allow for gaps to emerge in how they meet the complexity of current market place demands.

Speedtech’s President, Christopher Karnowski, comments: “We are a solution based company and our goal is to make our customers look good. This new ISO standard takes the processes that we already had in place and makes us look at them from a new perspective…. It assures us that we are incorporating best practices, that we are consistent and that we are taking the customers best interest to heart. For our customer, it enhances their experience with us. The rigorous process of the most recent ISO standard has increased our ability to see and meet the needs of the client beforehand. The risk based, ‘what happens if’ approach makes us much more prepared for the unexpected, increases awareness and efficiency, while preventing mistakes. Whenever we help the customer, that makes us a better supplier.” PR Web
