Samsung’s Foldable Phone Will Be Officially Called Galaxy Fold

Samsung is teasing its foldable phone ahead of its Galaxy S10 event tomorrow and while a full announcement is unlikely we might get to learn more about it there.

The company gave us a glimpse of it in November last year, but didn’t reveal its name. Hence, it was referred to as Galaxy Fold and Galaxy F. But today, we finally have some more solid evidence about which way it will go.

Popular leakster Evan Blass confirmed that this foldable Samsung phone will be officially called Galaxy Fold.

From earlier we know it will feature two displays – one that measures 4.58-inch and the other that measures 7.3-inch. The smaller display will have an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 1960 x 840 pixels. It will sit on the outer cover of the phone. On the other hand, the larger display will be foldable and have a resolution of 2152 x 1536 pixels with an aspect ratio of 4.2:3.

As far as the innards are concerned, the Galaxy Fold is expected to come with Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 8 GB RAM. It will reportedly ship with two batteries having a capacity of 2,190 mAh each.

The Galaxy Fold is likely to run Android Pie with One UI layered on top and is rumored to cost a small fortune.

Hopefully we will know more about the Galaxy Fold tomorrow at Samsung’s Unpacked event. – GSM Arena
