Samsung Unveils W2019 Flip Smartphone With Dual-Display, T9 Keypad And Snapdragon 845 SoC In China

South Korean technology giant Samsung has unveiled W2019, a premium flip smartphone with dual-display and a compact physical T9 keypad. W2019 is part of Samsung’s ‘W series’ smartphones and is the successor of last year’s W2018 smartphone.

The smartphone will be available in two colour options Gold Extreme Edition and Platinum Golden Collector’s Edition. Though Samsung hasn’t announced the price and availability, W2019 is expected to be a China-exclusive device like its predecessors.

W2019 features

As mentioned, W2019 is a premium range smartphone from Samsung and sports premium diamond-cut aluminium and glass. It comes with a compact physical T9 keypad which permits one hand control along with a side-housing fingerprint sensor.

Apart from regular features, Samsung will dish out services such as exclusive access to VIP lounges at various airports and high-speed railways. Users can also gain access to priority centralised image processing (CIP) checkpoints at airports for 12 months. These services can be availed by long-pressing the ‘8’ key on the dial. Samsung is also offering privileged maintenance service such as screen and battery replacement for a year.

W2019 specifications

Samsung W2019 sports dual 4.2-inch full-HD Super AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1080*1920p and aspect ratio of 16:9. The device measures 132.9mm x 63.4mm x 17.3mm and weighs 257 grams.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset ever, Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option. The smartphone supports memory expansion of up to 512GB.

In optics, it has a dual-rear camera setup with 12MP+12MP configuration. The primary sensor supports dual aperture of f/1.5 and 2.4. The secondary telephoto lens supports 2x optical zoom. Apart from features such as autofocus, the cameras duo can capture 4K videos at 60fps. At the front, it houses 8MP camera with aperture of f/2.0.

Connectivity options on the dual-SIM phone include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, ANT+, NFC, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, USB 3.1 Type-C accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, iris sensor and proximity sensor.

The device comes powered by a 3,070mAh battery which Samsung claims has a standby time of up to 280 hours on a single charge. – Money Control
