Samsung Demos 5G And IoT Technology At MWC Americas 2018

Samsung Electronics is showcasing its 5G and other mobile technologies at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Americas 2018.

Tim Baxter, CEO and president of Samsung Electronics North America, will deliver Samsung’s MWCA Keynote with a presentation entitled “5G and the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” on September 13.

“5G technologies will revolutionize wireless services and connected devices with blazing speed, massive connectivity and ultra-low latency,” said Tim Baxter.

Samsung is the fourth largest telecom equipment maker. Samsung has overtaken ZTE in the telecom equipment market. Samsung is behind Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia in the global telecom network market.

John Godfrey, senior vice president of Public Policy, Samsung Electronics America and Alok Shah, vice president, Strategy, Business Development & Marketing Samsung Electronics America, will be speaking at MWCA at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Samsung’s 5G technology, Samsung’s SmartThings and IoT enabled Samsung products, devices – Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy Watch, along with the Tab S4, SmartThings Tracker, AKG accessories and B2B mobility solutions, will also be on display.

Samsung’s telecom operator partners such as Sprint and Verizon will be presenting Samsung achievements at the trade event.

Sprint will feature Samsung’s 5G-ready Massive MIMO solutions, while Verizon will show Samsung’s commercial 5G home routers.

Samsung is leading the way in delivering transformative 5G solutions, and the deployment of its FCC approved 5G-ready Massive MIMO and 5G NR equipment will usher in a new era of unique telecommunications services.

“With the introduction of 5G technologies Samsung is pioneering new network innovations for both consumers and enterprises,” Mark Louison, senior vice president and general manager, Networks Division, Samsung Electronics America, said.

Samsung MIMO powers Sprint’s LTE network

Samsung Electronics announced that its 5G-ready massive MIMO solutions on Sprint’s 2.5 GHz TDD-LTE network are in commercial service.

Samsung’s massive MIMO solutions deliver improved 4G LTE throughput and capacity to Sprint’s subscribers. This helps provide Sprint with a seamless upgrade path to 5G New Radio (NR), utilizing the carrier’s 2.5 GHz spectrum.

Lyle Nyffeler, vice president, Networks Division, Samsung Electronics America, said: “Our MIMO solutions are engineered to maximize 4G networks today, while offering a seamless path to a 5G future.”

“Massive MIMO is a powerful technology that enables us to dramatically increase our LTE capacity and data speeds, giving customers in dense urban locations an even better mobile experience,” said Jay Bluhm, vice president of Network Development and Engineering, Sprint. – Telecom Lead
