Pegatron, Foxconn to see revenue peak in 4Q20

With the new iPhones 12 series coming soon, Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai) and Pegatron are expected to see their revenues peak for 2020 in the fourth quarter, according to market sources.

The development of the next-generation iPhones was affected by the coronavirus pandemic, resulting in delays in their launches, but the smartphones are expected to make their debut in the fourth quarter, the sources said.

Many component makers already have begun shipments for clients’ new smartphones in the third quarter, including Apple’s next-generation iPhones. Largan, reportedly a lens module maker for iPhone, saw its consolidated revenues for August return to above NT$5 billion (US$170 million).

Some market observers expect a 5.4-inch iPhone and a 6.1-inch model to become available in the early half of October, while another 6.1-inch version and 6.7-inch one will hit store shelves in the latter half.

Pegatron’s consolidated revenues remained above NT$100 billion in August as the market has entered the traditional peak season in the third quarter. However, Pegatron remained cautious about the operation of its communications product business in the third quarter due to the delay in Apple launching the new iPhones, said the sources. DigiTimes
