PE-VC investments rise 35% month-on-month to $3.5 Billion in Nov
Private Equity-Venture Capital (PE-VC) firms invested $3.5 Billion (across 84 transactions) in Indian companies during the Month of November 2022- registering an almost 35% uptick compared to the immediate previous month (which saw $2.6 Billion being invested across 76 deals), shows data from Venture Intelligence, a research service focused on private company financials, transactions, and their valuations. (Note: These figures include Venture Capital type investments, but exclude PE investments in Real Estate). The investment amount in November 2022 represents a 28% decline from the same period in 2021 (which saw $4.9 Billion being invested across 105 deals). The latest monthly figures takes the total PE-VC investments during 2022 to $44 Billion (across 1,191 deals) – down 32% compared to $64.8 Billion (across 1,356 deals) in the same period in 2021.

Exits Witness Uptick
PE-VC firms harvested $2.5 Billion across 25 Deals during November 2022- up about 2.7x compared to the immediate previous month (which saw 15 deals worth $0.9 Billion). The exit value was however 36% lower compared to November 2021 (which saw 19 deals worth $3.9 Billion).
The latest month takes the total PE-VC exits during 2022 to $16.3 Billion (across 204 deals) – down 55% compared to $36.9 Billion (across 283 deals ) in the same period in 2021.
