Oracle Co-CEO Hurd Takes Medical Leave Of Absence

Oracle co-CEO Mark Hurd is taking a medical leave of absence, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a note to employees. Hurd did not provide further details and the company did not respond to requests for further comments.

The move means Safra Catz will be Oracle’s sold CEO. The co-CEO system started in September 2014, with Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison acting as chairman and head of technology. Catz and Ellison will now manage Hurd’s responsibilities in the interim.―Telecompaper
