Nokia Selected By Telecom Argentina To Help Enable New Enterprise IoT Services

Nokia has signed a contract with Telecom Argentina allowing it to offer IoT services to its enterprise customers in the country and across Latin America using Nokia Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING). This agreement comes as Telecom Argentina prepares to offer a scalable onboarding process for all its IoT customers, operating in different business models.

Telecom Argentina is the first company in the country to close a deal with Nokia to offer IoT services to its enterprise customers using the fully virtualized and future-proofed WING infrastructure, offered as a managed service, which will allow companies to launch IoT services faster to improve their customer experience.

According to GSMA*, the number of IoT connections will reach 25 billion connections worldwide until 2025. Latin American IoT revenue** is expected to grow and be worth over USD 47 billion in the same year. While IoT rapidly advances consumer markets and smart homes, the segment of Industrial IoT will be the biggest source of growth for connections in the future.

Nokia’s WING technology will provide Telecom Argentina’s customers with strategic opportunities ensuring the implementation of suitable solutions to various industry verticals that seek for IoT services in Argentina with a fast time to market, enabling the operator to capture multiple IoT opportunities in various industry verticals, including automotive, agriculture, utilities, finance and services.

Alongside this, incremental services such as connectivity and device management will assist Telecom Argentina to create value-added opportunities in today’s network and the 5G era to come. Nokia’s IMPACT platform will provide device management functionality as part of the overall WING solution.
