Nokia 2.3 Launched In India, Price Starts At Rs 8,199

Earlier this month, HMD Global unveiled its budget smartphone – the Nokia 2.3 – at an event in Cairo. And now the phone has arrived in India. The phone costs Rs 8,199 and it will go on sale in the country on December 27, 2019.

As a part of the launch offer, HMD Global is giving users a one year replacement guarantee wherein the company would replace the users’ Nokia 2.3 smartphone purchased before March 31, 2020 within one year of the ownership period if they find a hardware failure or a manufacturing defect in the device.

“Consumers have loved our 1-year replacement guarantee on Nokia feature phones and now we are extending this to smartphones with the Nokia 2.3,” Sanmeet Kochhar, Vice President – India, Middle-East and North Africa, HMD Global said on the occassion.

In addition to the one year replacement guarantee, Jio subscribers who purchase Nokia 2.3 will get benefits worth Rs 7,200 on plans worth Rs 249 and Rs 349 plans. These benefits include Rs 2,200 cash-back from Jio, Rs 3,000 vouchers from Cleartrip and a discount of Rs 2,000 on Zoomcar. Good news is that this offer is valid for both, new as well as existing Jio subscribers.

Nokia 2.3 specification

The Nokia 2.3 comes with a 6.2-inch HD Plus display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixel and a waterdrop notch that houses a 5MP selfie camera. It is powered by quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor that is coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space which can be expanded further using a 400GB microSD card. The newly launched smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie and Nokia says that it is ‘Android 10 ready’ and that the company will deliver three years of security updates and two years of software updates to the phone.

As far as the camera is concerned, the Nokia 2.3 as mentioned before comes with a 5MP front camera. It sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor with an LED flash. The phone comes with a new Recommended Shot feature – exclusive to Nokia smartphones – that helps users to pick the best picture.

It comes with a dedicated button for Google Assistant and it is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with AI-assisted battery technology, which the company says learns what apps you use the most and prioritises power for them.

When it goes on sale later this month, the Nokia 2.3 will be available in three colour variants – Cyan Green, Sand and Charcoal. – India Today
