The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has imposed a fine of around Rs 2.25 crore on Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) for various violations. Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited had dug trenches on tar as well as cement roads, However, it only allowed horizontal drilling, and the restoration was of low quality.
It was also reported that Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited had dug a ditch on the Tar Road in Sahakar Nagar for optical fiber cabling, despite being permitted to do the work through Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) technology. Engineers of Laxmi Nagar Zone and the Hotmix Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation were also aware of this but did not take any action.
Engineers of Hotmix department take necessary action after verification. Accordingly, a team of Hotmix Department under the leadership of Executive Engineer Kamlesh Chauhan inspected the work being done by Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Municipal commissioner Radhakrishnan B directed.

NMC Hotmix imposed fine
The engineer has said that Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited has been instructed to stop the work with immediate effect. They will ensure the restoration works, and then take a decision on allowing the works to resume once again.
