MWC 2022: Anritsu prepares for sustainable future beyond 5G

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the leading exhibition for the connectivity industry. It is attended by global mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors, and content owners. At MWC Barcelona, companies share the latest thought leadership about the progression and future of connectivity.

Key message from Anritsu:
” Beyond testing, beyond limits, for a sustainable future together” is key message from Anritsu.
5G devices and network technology are currently being rolled out, delivering higher speed and capacity and lower latency. Industry is also developing innovative new capabilities in Open RAN, Cloud/EDGE Deployment, and virtualized networks. This provides the future platform for new use cases and new applications, for evolving the technology Beyond 5G, and for the development of a sustainable society. Anritsu, a long-term partner of the Telecom Industry for test and analytics solutions, is contributing to this journey. The company is producing innovative new solutions to enable the eco-systems that are either developing or using the technologies and accelerating the realization of new products and services for Industry Verticals.

Key demonstration at Anritsu booth during MWC 2022.
Anritsu has been participating in Mobile World Congress for many years & this time again. Anritsu will exhibit the following advanced solutions supporting the latest 5G standards and network deployments at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Hall 5, Stand D41.

Anritsu booth will have 5 demonstration station to showcase its Test and Measurement solution along with Service Assurance Solution portfolio to telecom eco system at MWC 2022.

Service assurance: In this section we will demonstrate 2 major applications as under.

  • 5G Standalone Automated Assurance: Anritsu’s probing and troubleshooting solution is massively scalable and cost-effective for legacy and next generation networks reducing operational costs and driving efficiencies for Worldwide Operators. It provides end-to-end insight into customer experience and network traffic with KPIs, detailed call-flow troubleshooting, real-time dashboards, analytics, and reporting. It assures 5G networks, virtualized and cloud enabled, alongside 2G to 4G networks.
  • AI and Analytics: Anritsu uses patented machine learning algorithms to automatically detect anomalies in behaviour, isolate the root cause, and impacted subscribers ready for automated actions. This is faster, with high accuracy, reduces meantime to detection/resolution (MTTD/MTTR), and with cases closed faster, significantly reduces knock-on impacts to subscribers and reduces the number of impacted subscribers. NWDAF used in conjunction with Service Assurance visibility brings the most granular and speedy insights for 5G SA network launch, automation and closed loop fixes.

Test and measurement solutions:
Under this section we will show 5G use related with various applications be it in Lab or in the field.

  • 5G NR URLLC (Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communication): Applications like Smart Factory/Industrial automation, self-driving vehicles, and remote surgery require extremely low latency of one millisecond or less and high reliability. Maintaining these stringent requirements even when mobile devices are in motion requires new handover techniques to ensure seamless data continuity. Anritsu will demonstrate Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A and RTD (Rapid Test Designer) to showcase above use case. The demonstration shows a new handover method introduced by 3GPP which targets to achieve data interruption time of almost zero.
  • 5G Field Testing- Base Station Test
Anritsu will demonstrate The MS2090A Field Master Pro. The MS2090A Field Master Pro provides a comprehensive toolbox for RF field engineers installing and maintaining 5G networks. 5G beam analyzer, Modulation quality, Time Offset, Interference hunting and cable & antenna analyzer measurements are all included. Frequency options cover FR1 and FR2 bands, while an RTSA with 110 MHz bandwidth, speeds up and enhances the search for interference hunting and the IQ capture feature provides detailed analysis of 5G frames to ensure the greatest insight base station performance.
  • 5G Validation for Low Latency and Synchronization:
Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC) is key for applications such as autonomous vehicles, medical, and Multiple Access Edge Computing (MEC) linking Data Centers to 5G Mobile Access. Combined with network synchronization, it ensures that information is delivered quickly and reliably to wherever it is needed.
  • Anritsu MT1000A Network Master Pro, a portable easy to use test solution with 10G, 25G and 100G interfaces, now with a new enhanced integrated oscillator, accurately analyses critical network performance parameters to ensure URLLC and end-to-end quality of service. With accurate measurements of latency, PTP clock synchronization, Wander, and connectivity to GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, and QZSS, the Network Master Pro MT1000A is the ideal solution for deploying faster and low latency 5G mobile networks.
  • 5G Network Slicing for Automotive V2X:
Anritsu MT8000A Radio Communication Test Station and dSPACE VEOS (a PC-based simulation platform), with dSPACE AURELION sensor-realistic simulation provides 5G Network slicing testing environment for Automotive V2X Use Cases. We will demonstrate AICW (Advanced Intersection Collision Warning), which is one of the use cases of V2X. By using communication technology such as 5G, sensor information outside the vehicle can also be obtained. This allows the vehicle to detect the risk of an intersection collision and alert the driver accordingly. V2X data and video data collected by camera sensors are sent to warn of a bike in the blind spot of the intersection, using 5G Network slicing technology to provide separate URLLC connection for the V2X hazard warning data and eMBB connection for HD video sharing

Technologies and measurements for beyond 5G – Global:
3GPP has started work on ‘5G-Advanced’ from Release 18, and industry/academia is already evaluating technologies for 6G. Anritsu is participating in multiple projects and consortiums to help define and shape the future telecoms technologies and the related measurement requirements. Key technologies such as sub-THz frequency band devices, full duplex transmission, AI/ML in the air interface, disaggregated and virtualised networks, all photonic networks, and energy efficiency are all central themes for networks beyond 5G that are expected to create new measurement requirements. New test concepts and capabilities to support these technologies are being developed and are used in research projects.
Anritsu will demonstrate ME7838G Series Vector Network Analyzers – 220 GHz VNA under this section!!

For those who can not make it to be at MWC2022 Barcelona:
Virtual Mobile World Congress 2022
Anritsu is hosting a virtual Mobile World Congress Wireless Technology Event in addition to its attendance in Barcelona. The virtual event will highlight emerging technologies and test and analytics solutions to support advanced networks and UE as the industry continues towards 6G.

Anritsu has partnered with many technology solutions providers who provides test solution for a comprehensive telecom eco system application. Some of them are dspace, Interdigital, orolia, Spirent, Fujitsu, Compass, Keycom, Toyo, Swissto12 etc.
