Mukesh Ambani Keen To Invest In Uttarakhand

Boosting the Uttarakhand Government’s plans to attract investment in the State ahead of the Investors Summit slated for  October, business tycoon Mukesh Ambani has shown keen interest to invest in the State.

Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL),-which is the most valuable company of India in terms of market share, expressed his interest in the fields of internet connectivity, organic farming and hospitality while interacting with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat in Mumbai on Wednesday. The meeting between the two was held on the sidelines of the ‘Road Show’ organised by the Uttarakhand government to promote ‘Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit’.

In course of the discussion, Ambani evinced keen interest in the ‘Digital Uttarakhand’ initiative of the state government and suggested that his company can provide support in providing internet connectivity in all the health centres and schools located in Uttarakhand. He also said that Reliance Jio Info com limited can help in providing Net Connectivity in all parts of the state. He also expressed interest in storage of organic produce and providing facility of cold storage in the state.

He told the CM that Uttarakhand has vast potential in the areas like organic vegetables and herbal produce and there is a need to develop back end chain for them in the state.

He volunteered help on the matter. Terming Uttarakhand as a special gift of nature, Ambani said that the place is more beautiful than Switzerland. The only thing needed is to present it before the world, he said. The RIL chairman further said that his company is interested to invest in areas of tourism and hospitality in Uttarakhand.

He hinted that works of Reliance Foundation might be expanded in Uttarakhand.

As requested by the CM, Ambani expressed his keenness  to extend every possible help in developing Badrinath shrine on the lines of Kedarnath. – Daily Pioneer
