APPOINTED

Navneet Gupta has been appointed as joint secretary, Department of Telecommunications.

Debatosh Manna has been appointed as Member Services, Digital Communications Commission.

Shakeel Ahmad, deputy director general, Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC), has been transferred to the North-East as in-charge of the compliance of licensing conditions and the surveillance aspect of mandatory testing.

BL Varshney, Sheetla Prasad, and SK Gupta have been appointed as additional charge of directors, BSNL. BL Varshney, has been appointed director – enterprise business; Sheetla Prasad, director – consumer mobility, and SK Gupta, director – finance.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has replaced Deepak Kashyap with HS Sohal as the new anti-corruption official at BSNL. Deepak Kashyap, chief vigilance officer, BSNL, has been shifted to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.

P Santhosham has been appointed as chief general manager of BSNL, Chennai Telephones. He replaces SM Kalavathi.

Alok Ohrie has been appointed as president and managing director, Dell Technologies, India.

Sudarsan Ranganathan has been appointed as chief strategy officer, Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic. This is a new role created at the IT services provider and SI company. Previously, Sudarsan was the regional director and marketing head at HiSYS-MC.

Rajan Bhandari has been promoted as CEO, Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic. In his previous role, Rajan was COO and regional director.

Jaya Mahadevan has been appointed as director, distribution & IT channel business, Schneider Electric. Jaya takes over from Gurudutt, who is moving into a new role as director medium offer and special projects, India.

Naresh Shanker has been appointed as senior vice president, chief technology officer, Xerox Corporation. Shanker succeeds Steve Hoover.

Sanjay Manohar has been appointed as managing director, McAfee India. Prior to McAfee, Sanjay held roles as regional vice president – Asia-Pacific Japan, carrier business, Akamai Technologies.

Kevin Keefe has been appointed as head of network and cloud and global services unit, Arris. He succeeds Dan Whalen.

Krishna Sudheendra, CFO and president, UST Global has been named CEO as part of the company’s succession plan. Sajan Pillai, CEO, UST Global, has retired.

Monika Maurer has been appointed as President and CEO, Radio Frequency Systems (RFS). Previously, she was chief operating officer, Nokia Group.

ELECTED

Balesh Sharma, CEO, Vodafone Idea Limited, will now hold the position of chairman, COAI. He succeeds Sunil Sood. Ajai Puri, COO (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel Limited, will continue to be the vice chairman of the association.

Steffen Roehn, currently an expert vice president at Bain & Company, and TM Forum board director, has been elected as the organization’s new chairman for a two-year term. He succeeds David Pleasance.

RESIGNED

Sunil Gupta has left NTT Com-Netmagic. Gupta was president, COO and executive director on the board of Netmagic Solutions India since 2010.

Dell EMC enterprise president for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) David Webster has left the company.

Greg Clark, president, CEO, and board member, Symantec has stepped down.
