Ansuli Arya has been appointed as the administrator of Universal Service Obligation Fund. Arya, a 1989 batch IAS officer from the Bihar cadre succeeds Sanjay Singh.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Sarvesh Singh as chairman-cum-managing director of Bharat Broadband Network Limited. Singh, an Indian Railways Service of Signal Engineers 1988-batch officer will hold a joint secretary-level position under the Department of Telecommunications and the Department of Personnel and Training.

Vodafone Idea has appointed Krishnan Ramachandran as an independent director for a period of 3 years. He is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and IIM Calcutta. He started his career with Tata Administrative Service and has spent a major part of his career with Philips Electronics and TAS.

Murugesan. R has been appointed as senior director, sales – private networks (India & SAARC) of R&M India.

Shailendra Kalra has been appointed as chief strategy officer and head of business development of Vedang Cellular Services Pvt. Ltd., a QuessCorp Company. He joins Vedang Cellular Services from Livingston India Pvt. Ltd., part of the Microlease Group UK, where he served as country director (India).

Avaya has appointed Sanjay Pai, as the regional sales director for India market. He has held leadership roles in organizations such as Genesys and Alcatel Lucent Enterprise.

Nilanjan Roy, has been appointed as CFO of Infosys. Roy, who has been with Airtel for the past 13 years, was the global CFO at the telecom major, a position he has been holding since August 2015.

D-Link has appointed Chetan Sabnis as principal consultant, D-Link partner community.

NK Bhattacharya, joined Savitri Telecom Services as Sr. VP-Operations. Formerly, he worked as head of the Project Division Network Systems Unit of ITI Ltd. He has handled large turnkey projects for Defense, DoT, BSNL/MTNL, Railways and other Government organizations, in the field of telecommunications.

Nokia has named Sandra Motley as the president of its fixed networks business group. Motley succeeds Federico Guillén. Amid the reshuffle, Guillén is now President of EMEA & APAC customer operations at Nokia; Ricky Corker has been appointed as the president of customer operations, Americas; and Federico Guillén appointed president of customer operations, EMEA & Asia.

Telecom Italia has added three new executives to senior positions reporting directly to new CEO Luigi Gubitosi. Carola Bardelli has been named chief of investor relations. Bardelli was previously head of Italian equity research and MD at Deutsche Bank. She succeeds Simone Cantagallo, who has been named as chief of institutional communication. Carlo Nadello has been named as chief strategic-development and transformation office. Nardello joins from Alitalia Extraordinary Commissioners, where he has been chief of staff since 2017.

Susan M’kandawire Mulikita has been appointed as CEO of Liquid Telecom Zambia.She has more than 20 years’ ICT experience and is also the first female CEO responsible for ICT in Zambia.

Mohamed Abdel Bassit has been appointed as regional CEO for the Middle East and West Africa of Liquid Telecom. He joins Liquid Telecom from Orange Group, where he served as regional director for voice, data, and mobile services in the Middle East for the past year.

Ulf Ewaldsson has been appointed as senior vice president of technology transformation of T-Mobile US. He enters the role with more than 30 years’ experience at networking and telecoms company, Ericsson where he most recently served as a senior advisor to the company’s CEO.

Blue Planet Networks has named former NTT Europe exec Steve Corfe as its CEO. Corfe originally joined Blue Planet Networks in September 2018 as chief commercial officer but he has now been named CEO, replacing John Hammond, who had led the firm since 2015.

Sophos has appointed Gavin Struthers as its regional vice president for Asia-Pacific and Japan. Prior to Sophos, Struthers served as senior vice president and president, APAC at McAfee.

Kieran McGrath will assume the role of senior vice president and CFO of Avaya, effective February 15, 2019, and Pat O’Malley will transition to serve as senior vice president, Growth Initiatives. McGrath and O’Malley will both report to Jim Chirico, Avaya President and CEO.

Flex announced that Revathi Advaithi, is joining as Chief Executive Officer and appointed to the Board of Directors at Flex. Prior to Flex, Advaithi was president and chief operating officer for the electrical sector business for Eaton.

Telecom Egypt Co. has appointed Adel Hamed as chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director, replacing Ahmed El Beheiry.

Digicel has appointed Jean-Yves Charlier to be its chief executive officer. He has worked as CE, Veon. Charlier’s appointment comes after the passing of Digicel Group’s CEO, Alexander Matuschka von Greiffenclau last month.

Dell EMC has appointed Havier Haddad as the general manager for the Gulf region which includes Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. Haddad has been with the company for 11 years and was serving as senior channel director, a position he held since January 2015.

Apple announced that Deirdre O’Brien is taking on new responsibilities for Apple’s retail and online stores in an expanded role as senior vice president of Retail + People, reporting to CEO Tim Cook.

Todd Underwood, vice president of finance and director of Intel’s corporate planning and reporting, will assume the role of interim chief financial officer as the company undertakes an internal and external search for a permanent CFO.

Allison Kirkby is to join the BT Board as a non-executive director. Her appointment takes effect from March 15, 2019.She has been President & Group CEO of TDC Group since December 2018. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Intel Corporation has announced Robert Swan as chief executive officer, who has been serving as Intel’s interim CEO for seven months and as chief financial officer since 2016. Swan has also been elected to Intel’s board of directors.

Sudip Singh, the global head of the energy, utilities, resources, and services unit of Infosys has quit the company.

Helena Norrman, company’s senior vice president, chief marketing and communications officer and head of marketing and corporate relations, Ericsson, has put in her papers.

Pierre-Louis de Guillebon has resigned from the role of CEO of Orange International Carriers to lead a new Orange Business Unit.

Tim Stone, the CFO of Snapchat parent company Snap, has quit.

Laurent Philonenko, Senior Vice President, Innovation, Avaya, will be leaving the company to assume the role of chief executive officer with a business partner to Avaya.

Gavin Patterson stepped down as Chief Executive and from the BT Board on January 31, 2019. He replaces Philip Jansen.

Angela Ahrendts plans to depart Apple in April 2019 for new personal and professional pursuits.
