APPOINTED
STL has appointed Tushar Shroff as Group Chief Financial Officer. Shroff is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant. Prior to joining STL, he worked for global and Indian multinational organisations including ABB, ELSTER Metering, Piramal Healthcare, SCHOTT Glass, Zydus Cadila, and Intas Pharmaceuticals.

Divya Sethi has been appointed as the executive vice president and head – strategic accounts enterprise, Vodafone Idea. Sethi has joined Vi from Bharti Airtel, where he was heading OneWeb for the AMEA region, and prior to that, he was heading B2B Mobility and SMB at Airtel.

Vikash Sharma has joined Vodafone Idea as the cluster marketing head for MPCG (Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) circle. Prior to this, Sharma was head of finance, accounts, and supply chain, UP-E & UP-W, Airtel.

Subroto Mazumdar has joined as the cluster marketing head for Uttar Pradesh (UP), Vodafone Idea. Prior to this, Mazumdar was DGM at Bharti Airtel Limited, Gurugram.

Gaurav Dwivedi has been appointed as executive member (chief executive officer) in Prasar Bharati for a period of five years.

Girish Gupta has joined APAR Industries Limited as business head– telecom and convergence. Prior to this, Gupta worked with STL for 23 years, his last assignment being regional head, India, Gurugram.

Ashish Ahuja has been appointed as CTO of the CtrlS Datacenters Ltd. Ahuja has earlier served as director–global network infrastructure at Google, and has also held leadership roles at France Telecom and Tata Communications.

NXP Semiconductors has promoted Hitesh Garg as the India country manager. He has been working with NXP for over a decade in various roles. Garg will continue to be the general manager for Analog Mixed Signal IP (AMSIP).

Eutelsat Communications has appointed Christophe Caudrelier as chief financial officer from January 2, 2023. Christophe joins Eutelsat from Tikehau Ace Capital Partners, where he served as operating partner – finance.

Former Infosys President Ravi Kumar S will join Cognizant on January 16, 2023, as President of Cognizant Americas. Along with Ravi Kumar, Cognizant announced the appointment of Prasad Sankaran as the head of the Software & Platform Engineering practice area. He joined on November 1.

CyrusOne has appointed Krishna Seetharam as CIO. Seetharam previously served as vice president and CIO for National Grid’s New York business unit.

Mathias Berg, currently VP, head of advertising Nordic and deputy CEO TV4 Media, has joined Telia Company’s group executive management team as SVP, Head of TV & Media, succeeding Casten Almqvist, who has left Telia Company.

Ajit Mohan has joined Snap as the president of the company’s APAC business. Mohan had resigned as India head, Meta Platforms Inc.

Manish Agarwal has stepped down as CEO, Nazara Technologies. Nitish Mittersain, the company’s founder, has taken over as CEO in addition to his existing position as joint managing director. The company also announced the appointment of Sudhir Kamat as chief operating officer. Kamath had founded Sparskills Technologies.

Wipro Limited has named Ankush Saigal as its head of telecom industry sector – Southeast Asia. Prior to this, Saigal has worked with Accenture and Infosys.

Wipro has appointed Amit Chaudhary as COO. Chaudhary was previously COO for Capgemini’s Financial Services Business Unit.

ELECTED
Verizon Communications Inc. has elected Vittorio Colao to the Verizon Board of Directors, effective November 4, 2022. Colao was the Italian Minister for Innovation, Digital Transition, and Space from February 2021 to October 2022. He was the chief executive of Vodafone Group Plc. from 2008 to 2018.

Dr Paul E. Jacobs, chairman and CEO of XCOM Labs and former CEO and executive chairman of Qualcomm Inc., and Rosemary Schooler, former corporate vice president and general manager of Data Center and AI sales for Intel have been appointed as board members of Arm as it continues to prepare for a public listing.

Kaniz Mahdi, SVP technology architecture and innovation at Deutsche Telekom has joined the board of Telecom Infra Project (TIP) as director.

Dr Alex Jinsung Choi has been elected as chairman of the O-RAN Alliance’s board of directors. He has served as COO of O-RAN Alliance since its founding in 2018. Choi replaces Andre Fuetsch, who served as chairman from 2018 until his retirement from AT&T in August 2022. The board appointed Stefan Engel-Flechsig as O-RAN Alliance’s COO. Stefan also has been engaged as a critical part of O-RAN’s staff since its founding.

Col. Ali Akhtar Jafri, Retd. has been appointed as the director general, Manufacturers’ Association of Information Technology (MAIT).

RESIGNED
Vodafone CEO Nick Read will step down from his role by the end of the year and will be replaced by finance director, Margherita Della Valle on an interim basis. Read’s exit will bring his four-year tenure to an end.

Just days after Salesforce co-CEO Bret Taylor announced his resignation, Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield announced that he will be stepping down in January. Lidiane Jones, who has been the executive VP and GM for digital experiences clouds at Salesforce, would be taking over for Butterfield, leaving a succession plan that had apparently been lacking when Taylor surprised everyone by stepping down on December 1, 2022. He is returning to his entrepreneurial roots. Taylor had lost his job as Twitter board chair when Elon Musk took over last month and dissolved the Twitter board immediately.

Verizon Communications Inc. announced that Manon Brouillette, CEO of Verizon Consumer Group, has stepped down from the role she has held since January 2022. Verizon Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg, has assumed responsibility for leading the Consumer Group in addition to his day-to-day responsibilities.

KS Rao CEO, Network Software and Services Business at STL has put in his papers. Rao, for the moment is taking a break after 30 years of working.
