Appointed
Tejas Networks has appointed N. Ganapathy Subramaniam and Amur S. Lakshminarayanan as nominee directors from Panatone Finvest Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Sons Private Limited. Subramaniam is chief operating officer (COO), and also a director and chairman of Tata Elxsi Limited. Lakshminarayanan is CEO & MD of Tata Communications.

Andrew Westerman has joined HFCL, Netherlands as vice president of international sales, communication products. HFCL also recently onboarded Dr Peter A Weimann as the CTO of optical fiber cable business and Jochen Arms as the vice-president – sales for the European DACH region for optical fiber cables. HFCL has also onboarded Rajesh Jain as the executive president of the EPC projects business. Santanu Bhattacharyya has joined HFCL as the vice president and head of FPGA Engineering.

Sukanta Das has joined Vodafone Idea Limited as EVP and business head-East. Das joins Vi from Firefox Bikes Ltd., where he was CEO and director. He has returned to Vi, where he had worked as circle operations head, Mumbai Area, from September 2018 to September 2019 and as senior vice president – sales and marketing from May 2015 to August 2018.

NTT Ltd. has appointed Avinash Joshi as the new chief executive officer of its India business. Joshi joins NTT after being with IBM for more than 18 years.

Santosh Viswanathan has been appointed as managing director, sales, marketing, and communications group (SMG) for Intel Corp.’s India unit. The role was previously held by Prakash Mallya, who is moving to a global role at the company. Before being appointed in this new role, Vishwanathan was the MD for Intel’s Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan units.

Nidhi Hola has joined Dell Technologies as country marketing director. Previously, Hola was with Microsoft India as integrated marketing director.

VerSe Innovation has appointed Sandip Basu as its group chief financial officer (CFO). Basu joins VerSe from his own start-up, Wise Apps, and has worked in senior positions in Bharti Telecom Limited, Fascel Limited, BPL Mobile Group, XCEL Telecom, Loop Mobile, and Loop Telecom.

Namita Tiwari has been appointed as Director and Head of CIS Marketing at Wipro. Prior to Wipro, Namita was employed with Tata Communications as a Senior Manager, Digital and Content Marketing. She has also worked with Accenture, Coforge, HCL, Polaris and Infosys.

Vikram Sinha has recently been announced as the chief executive officer of PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Tbk.

BT has announced the appointment of Marc Overton as managing director of its newly created ‘Division X’ unit, which forms part of its enterprise business. Overton joins the company from Sierra Wireless.

NTT Ltd. has appointed Miriam Murphy as CEO, Europe NTT Ltd. Murphy brings more than 25 years of IT experience and joins from Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company. At Tech Data, she was a member of the European Executive Board and served as senior vice president, advanced and specialized solutions business, EMEA.

Jeff Wilcox has returned to Intel as chief technology officer of the design engineering group. He had joined Apple from Intel in 2013, and was till recently Apple’s director of Mac System Architecture.

Facebook parent company Meta Platforms Inc. has named DoorDash Inc. chief executive officer Tony Xu to its board. Xu’s appointment brings the number of Meta directors to 10. All existing board members will remain on the panel.

Iridium Communications Inc. has appointed Manjula Sriram as vice president and chief information officer. Sriram joins Iridium with more than twelve years of senior IT management experience.

Eva Berneke has been appointed as chief executive officer of Eutelsat. Berneke will also be co-opted as a member of the board. She joins Eutelsat from KMD, Denmark.

Christel Heydemann has been appointed as chief executive officer, Orange, France. Heydemann is currently Executive Vice President Europe Operations, and a member of the Executive Committee of Schneider Electric. She succeeds Stephane Richard, who after a Paris appeal court convicted him of complicity of misuse of public funds had to quit the group, which he has led for the past 11 years. Given the Board’s decision to separate the roles of Chairman and CEO, on the new Chief Executive’s arrival, Stéphane Richard will continue in the role of Non-executive Chairman until a new Chairman is in post and at the latest until May 19, 2022, the date of Orange’s Annual General Meeting.

Sharad Sanghi has been elevated to the role of managing director and will lead the businesses of NTT Ltd., India.

Canadian wireless giant Rogers Communications Inc. has promoted Tony Staffieri as president and chief executive officer from interim CEO.

Manish Sharma has been named chief operating officer at Accenture, effective March 2022. He will be leading the company’s business operations and executing business strategy, protecting the company’s people and infrastructure and ensuring operational excellence, which includes the ongoing digital transformation of Accenture. He succeeds Jo Deblaere, who has served as a chief operating officer, Accenture since 2009. Deblaere will continue until March 1, 2022.

Elected
José María Álvarez-Pallete, Telefónica Chairman, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of the GSMA. With this election, the GSMA Chair will go to a Spanish company for the first time in the association’s history.

Resigned
Starlink India country director Sanjay Bhargava has resigned. Bhargava has cited personal reasons for his departure.

The head of communications at Facebook parent, Meta Platforms Inc, John Pinette, has put in his papers. Pinette was appointed vice president of global communications in April 2019.

Peiter Zatko, head of security, Twitter, has been asked to put in his papers. Better known as Mudge, Zatko was recruited after teenagers compromised the company’s systems in July 2020 and took over high-profile users’ accounts, including Bill Gates and Elon Musk.

Rinki Sethi, the chief information security officer, Twitter will depart in the coming weeks too. Sethi joined Twitter in late 2020. Prior to this, Sethi was VP, information and facts stability, IBM. In December, Dantley Davis, the chief design officer, and Michael Montano, the head of engineering had also been dismissed by Twitter. Lea Kissner, Twitter’s head of privacy engineering, will become the company’s interim chief information security officer. Kissner had held security and privacy leadership roles at Apple, Zoom, Humu and Google.

Orange business services CEO Helmut Reisinger wishes to pursue other professional opportunities out In December, Dantley Davis, the chief design officer, and Michael Montan side the Group, and has resigned after a fourteen-year stint. Aliette Mousnier-Lompré, EVP of operations and customer service, will take over on an interim basis until a new CEO is appointed.
