Microlease Test Centre of Excellence

Accurate testing and measurement is a critical element in electronics system design and manufacturing to ensure product quality. Increased product complexity has spurred a growing demand for precision testing which in turn has resulted in the related test equipment and solutions (both hardware and software) being highly cost intensive. Moreover, these sophisticated equipments involve high maintenance cost and require highly trained manpower to perform the necessary calibration and system debugging. As per a recent consulting report, the overall time involved in test and verification of semiconductors during their design phase has increased by 50 percent in the recent past. This means that introducing any new product and subsequently ramping up production is likely to require 12–18 months of debugging.

Large financial investment and long time required in testing are formidable impediments, especially for small and medium enterprises and startups, delaying project delivery and increasing time to market, ultimately impacting return on invested capital. Hence, a cost-effective testing environment with low testing time is likely to positively influence industry performance.

Considering the above-mentioned requirements, Microlease is going to open a Test Centre of Excellence at Bengaluru, India.

With the Test Centre of Excellence, Microlease is thinking and acting in new ways. The objective of the initiative is to support SME and technology startups to access world class infrastructure through a novel Pay As You Go Model. This model provides flexibility and optimizes cost for firms as it allows them to rent appropriate testing setups from a sizeable inventory of testing equipment on hourly or daily basis. With this new initiative, Microlease is focusing on applications like interface designs/peripheral interface designs; memory and wireless interface designs, digital audio, and general-purpose electronics.

In addition to testing facility, Microlease also provides value-added services like ongoing training and support, as well as consultation for the implementation of customized testing requirement. Last but not the least, Microlease offers a secured test environment to the users through a no data holding policy, thus, ensuring no intellectual property right infringement.
