MeitY approves Rs 500 crore for EMC cluster in Pune
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has approved a proposal for an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Ranjangaon Phase III, Pune, Maharashtra. The total cost of this project will be Rs 500 crore.
To be set up over 297 acres, the project is expected to house at least investments worth Rs 2000 crore and generate 5000 jobs.
The EMC 2.0 scheme modified on April 1, 2020 envisages setting up electronics manufacturing companies to create a robust ecosystem. The scheme’s objective is to provide financial assistance for setting up EMC projects as well as common facility centres (CFCs).
Interested electronics manufacturing companies can apply for financial assistance from the central government till 2023.
