Macquarie Completes Acquisition Of UK Telecoms Company Kcom

Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets (MIRA) confirmed that it has finalised the acquisition of UK telecoms provider Kcom through Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6 (MEIF6).

The settlement follows the recommendation of MEIF’s GBP 627 million cash offer by the Kcom Board in early-July following a competitive auction. The majority of Kcom shareholders approved the scheme on 26 July, with Kcom then delisting from the London Stock Exchange on 02 August.

Leigh Harrison, Head of MIRA EMEA, said that it would work with Kcom to boost fibre accessibility and reduce digital exclusion in the East Yorkshire region, investing to develop and expand Kcom’s networks.―Telecompaper
