Limit of Microwave Access carriers assigned to telcos increased

In view of the increased requirements of backhaul on account of 5G, DoT has decided to increase the limit of maximum number of Microwave Access carriers that can be assigned to a Telecom Service Provider with Access Service authorization/license on provisional basis vide Guidelines dated 16.10.2015, from existing 4 carriers (in Metro, Cat ‘A’ LSA) /3 carriers (in Cat ‘B’ & Cat ‘C’ LSA) to 8 carriers (in Metro, Cat ‘A’ LSA) / 6 carriers (in Cat ‘B’ & Cat ‘C’ LSA) w.e.f. the date of issue of this addendum.
