Lenovo’s Eye-Catching Yoga Chromebook Is Up For Pre-Order

Announced during IFA 2018, the Lenovo Yoga Chromebook caught our attention due to its looks and it breaking the “cheap and functional” status quo that most Chromebooks embraced over the years. Thankfully, pre-orders for Lenovo’s premium Chromebook are now available through Best Buy.

As a refresher, the Yoga Chromebook features a 15.6-inch IPS touchscreen display with either a 1,920 x 1,080 or 3,840 x 2,160 resolution. On the sides sit two USB Type-C ports, a full-size USB 3.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

As expected from a Yoga device, Lenovo’s iconic 180-degree rotating hinge lets you turn the Yoga Chromebook into a gigantic tablet. You probably do not want to do that often, given the 4.2 pounds of heft you will deal with, but at least the option is there.

The specs are definitely there, but what gets you to the door in the first place are the aesthetics. Lenovo smartly goes with an all-aluminum build for the Yoga Chromebook, with the size helping the keyboard and wrist areas breathe. The size also helps the Yoga Chromebook pack in a 56 Wh battery, which should push the machine toward 9 to 10 hours of battery life.

Whether the Yoga Chromebook’s $599 starting price is worth it, however, is up to you. That is more than what we are accustomed to seeing from Chromebooks, but you get a premium build with good internals in return. It also helps that similarly-priced Windows machines tend to have mediocre and chunky builds with washed-out displays.

You can pre-order the Yoga Chromebook from Best Buy at the link below. Interestingly, only the $699 variant with an 8th-generation Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage is available as of this writing. We do not know if Best Buy will also offer the lower-priced version, though we will keep our eyes open. – Android Authority
