Jio integrates energy utilities through sensors with trial 5G network

Jio has successfully integrated and automated energy infrastructure control using IoT/MMTC over its indigenous 5G standalone network.

“Jio has integrated energy utilities through sensors with it’s 5G Standalone Network for automating the entire value chain of energy management including distribution and consumption,” said Aayush Bhatnagar, Senior Vice President, Jio in a Linkedin post.

Bhatnagar added, “This enables exciting use cases, which will have far reaching implications for industrial setups, as well as for 5G-enabled smart cities.”

Energy infrastructure is undergoing a rapid transformation, with sustainability being a key future direction for Jio.

The telco says it has marked another key milestone on their indigenous 5G network. Adding to the trial of connected robotics, Voice and Messaging over 5G NR or VoNR, an AI multimedia chatbot, and immersive high-definition virtual reality (HD VR) meeting on their 5G network.
