Indus Towers appoints Sunil Sood as additional director

Former Vodafone India chief executive Sunil Sood has joined the Indus Towers board as an additional director as a non-executive non-independent director from June 30.

In a Bombay Stock Exchange filing on Thursday, the company advised that Sood will serve as an additional director until the date of the next general meeting and “to be eligible has been recommended to shareholders for appointment as a retiring director. by rotation”. at the next General Assembly.

The company also said Balesh Sharma, the first CEO of the Vodafone Idea merger, has stepped down as non-executive director with immediate effect.

Sood is a director on the board of the Vodafone Group’s Indian joint venture – Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) and Vodacom Group South Africa. He was Group Commercial Director, AMAP and Group Financial Services Director M-Pesa at Vodafone Group Services from September 2018 to September 2020.

He was also a director of the former Indus Towers Limited and Safaricom-Kenya in the past.
