IDC names leaders and major players for Asia/Pacific* digital workplace services in 2020

Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Workplace Services in the Era of Multiplied Innovation 2020 Vendor

Assessment names (in alphabetical order) Accenture & Avanade, Atos, Deloitte and HCL Technologies in the Leaders category in the market. Among the other participants in the study, Capgemini, DXC, EY, HPE, IBM, NTT DATA and Unisys were named in the Major Players category.

The ongoing COVID-19 outbreak has completely disrupted conventional business operations and moved workplace services to the center of organizational response to the crisis – as enterprises scramble to enable remote work for a significant proportion of their workforce to maintain operational resilience. According to IDC Asia/Pacific’s (ex. Japan) Business and IT Services Sourcing Survey 2020, over 54% indicated that their organizations planned to either increase or significantly increase their spend on Digital Workplace related services over the course of the year – illustrating how vital these services are going to be to the Future of Work in the new normal.

IDC defines workplace services in the era of multiplied innovation as the set of business and IT services relating to the plan, build, run, and/or support of digital workspace technology solutions. They are aimed at simplifying the management of the enterprise workspace technology environment, improving productivity through the extensive use of automation, and delivering a superior employee experience. Workplace services are a combination of integrated frameworks and technologies designed to empower employees to get their job done securely and effectively in today’s changing workplace. The services are targeted toward knowledge workers as well as blue-collar, frontline workers and, increasingly, digital workers (RPA/IA bots). In addition, they encompass all manner of endpoints, ranging from laptops, desktops, mobile devices at one end of the spectrum, to IoT-enabled endpoints (sensors, appliances, AR/VR devices, etc.).
