Huawei Mate 20 Massive Leak Reveals Features Like Voice ID, SuperCharge 2.0, NanoSD Cards And More

Huawei will be unveiling both smartphones at its October 16 event in London.

There seems to be no stopping the leaks around the upcoming Huawei Mate 20, and the Mate 20 Pro. Ahead of the October 16 launch, a massive leak has put the spotlight on some of the innovative features that the upcoming duo are likely to boast.

Israeli publication G-Rafa has shared a few alleged promotional posters that highlight some of the innovative features. Starting with the batteries, and the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be backed by 4,000mAh and 4,200mAh units respectively. But the talking point is Huawei’s SuperCharge 2.0 feature. The company claims this next-gen fast charging technology will be able to charge the battery up to 70 percent in only 30 minutes. Both devices will also support up to 15W wireless charging.

On the photography front, the Mate 20 Pro is rumored to boast the best camera yet on a smartphone. Both are expected to retain a triple-camera setup at the back, but with a difference. In place of the telephoto lens, Huawei is expected to opt for an ultra wide-angle lens. The cameras will also feature AI Smart Zoom, and HiVision that is said to work similar to the Google Lens.

For security, the Mate 20 Pro is expected to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, while the Mate 20 will stick with a standard sensor placed at the back. The Pro variant will also come with two additional security features. These include an iPhone-like Face Unlock feature that can unlock the device in just 500ms, and Bone Voice ID that can unlock the device when it detects the user’s voice.

The last two in the leaked features list is a new way to expand the devices’ internal storage, and support for wireless screen projection. As per the leak, Huawei will introduce support for nanoSD cards of up to 256GB. These cards seemingly look like nano SIM cards.

Some of these leaked features are indeed innovative, and it remains to be seen if all of them make it to the final product. There’s already quite a bit of excitement building around the upcoming Mate 20 devices, and we will know more on October 16. – BGR
