Govt Replaces Deepak Kashyap With HS Sohal As New BSNL Chief Vigilance Officer

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has replaced Deepak Kashyap with HS Sohal as the new anti-corruption official at state telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

BSNL’s chief vigilance officer (CVO) Deepak Kashyap has been shifted to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), the Department of Personnel & Training in a notification earlier said.

Kashyap took charge as a CVO of fourth-largest telco BSNL in April 2016.

Sohal, an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the 1987-batch Arunachal Pradesh, Goa and Mizoram Union Territories (AGMUT)-cadre is on the deputation as CVO of the Engineers India Limited, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in New Delhi currently.

With a masters’ degree in Botany, Sohal is a gold medalist from the Lucknow University and has been previously posted as the deputy conservator of forest and chief wildlife warden and ex-officio director— Environment at Chandigarh administration.

Being an associate professor of the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun, he is also a visiting faculty to Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun and Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie.―Telecom Tiger
