“Innovations, Sustainability, Surveillance and Development for Smart Cities”

Acknowledging the great importance of the 'Smart Cities' initiative by the Indian Government, Bharat Exhibitions is pleased to presents the 7th edition of Virtual Conference on 100 Smart Cities India 2021 on 26th August 2021 at 1000 to 1600 Hrs IST. With the theme – "INNOVATIONS, SUSTAINABILITY, SURVEILLANCE AND DEVELOPMENT FOR SMART CITIES”. This forum will trace the importance of various aspects of infrastructure that needs to be planned, designed, built and operated in order to provide the 'Smart' attribute to a city development, i.e Integrated Command Control Centres (ICCCs), Smart Governance, Surveillance, network and communication Systems, AI, IoT, Innovative In-Building Solutions etc. It is going to bring together global thought leaders to explore the intersection of technology (Smart Mobility, Internet of Things, M2M, Cloud, Artificial intelligence, Renewable energy, Big data, etc), innovation, OSS/BSS, smart cities, skills, regional collaboration and education.

Projects developed under the Smart Cities Mission are multi-sectoral and mirror the aspirations of the local population. As on date, 70 Smart cities have developed and operationalised their Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCCs) in the country. These operational ICCCs functioned as war-rooms for COVID management, and along with other smart infrastructure developed under the mission, helped cities in fighting the pandemic through information dissemination, improving communication, predictive analysis and supporting effective management. It is believed that by 2050, about 70% of the population of India would be living in cities. With this population shift, the need of the hour is Smart Cities that would support urban lifestyles. Cities that ensure optimal living conditions and benefits to everyone in the society. Cities, where economic development is sustainable and rationally incremental, by virtue of being based on success-oriented market drivers - such as supply and demand. The accrued benefits would be for its citizens, businesses, the government and the environment. In effect, the components of a Smart City would include enabling a better life, with services, mobility, environment, e-governance, economy, sustainability and inclusiveness as the pillars for success.

The Virtual Conference will featuring the designated heads of municipalities, urban/city planning, research/academic institutes, engineers/consultants, energy and utility experts, mobility and transportation experts, technology providers, and many more. The end objective behind bringing all these experts under one roof is to facilitate brainstorming on the opportunities, challenges and scope for developing a truly IoT infrastructure, encompassing the current situations pertaining to policy guidelines, regulatory norms, implementation challenges, etc., highlighting the importance of integrating ICT to support the Smart Cities mission in India.
