Free pledges not to raise the prices

When it celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2022, Free undertook not to raise the prices of its mobile plans (€2 and €19.99 plans) for the next five years, having already kept its prices the same since launching its business back in 2012.

One year on we’ve kept that promise and are reiterating our pledge not to alter our prices. “We’re the only operator in France that’s decided not to raise the prices of our mobile plans. Despite the inflationary environment and our massive investment in rolling out 5G across the whole of France, we have kept our promise we made in 2022 and we will continue to uphold our pledge for the next four years. We would like to thank all our subscribers for their trust and confidence in us” said Thomas Reynaud, Chief Executive Officer of the iliad-Free group.

In addition, the quality of Free’s mobile network speeds continues to be recognized, as seen in the latest annual nPerf survey on mobile Internet connections in Metropolitan France, covering 2022. In this survey, for the sixth consecutive year Free ranks as France’s number 1 alternative operator for mobile download speeds, with an average download speed of 87.39 Mbps, all technologies combined (2G > 5G).

Currently, Free’s mobile network covers over 99.8% of France’s population for 4G, and Free has the largest 5G network in France in terms of number of sites, covering over 87% of the population.
