Fossil Gen 5 Smartwatch Launched In India

Fossil has announced the launch of its latest smartwatch in India. Dubbed as Fossil Gen 5, the smartwatch comes with a price tag of Rs 22,995.

The latest smartwatch is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 platform and it comes with a host of interesting features. To start with, it is available in six colour options including combinations of black, smoke and rose gold. The smartwatch comes with a 44mm case and it features different strap options.

The smartwatch is loaded with Extended Battery Mode, which enhances the battery backup to multiple days on a single charge. Then there is Daily Mode that allows users to experience all the features including the always-on display. ‘Custom Mode’ allows users to easily manage battery optimization settings. ‘Time-Only Mode’ gives users additional hours when the watch has a low battery or if they choose to use the smartwatch to only tell time.

The smartwatch comes loaded with a swim-proof speaker, meaning that users can take calls, talk to Google Assistant, listen to sound alerts for notifications and play third-party music directly from the smartwatch without much trouble. Android users will be able to answer tethered calls, and later this fall, Fossil Group has developed a proprietary app allowing iPhone users to answer tethered calls- making this a first smartwatch from the brand.

It runs on Wear OS by Google and is loaded with a Tiles features. With this, one can simply swipe left to add easy access to quick actions and information. One can also check progress towards fitness goals, start a workout, know where you need to be next, plan ahead with the latest forecast, check your heart rate, follow the latest breaking headlines, and even quickly set a timer.

The smartwatch comes with 8GB of internal storage and it is backed by a 1GB of RAM. It comes with integrated sensors including heart rate tracking, untethered GPS, NFC for Google Pay, and Rapid Charging. It comes with new Cardiogram feature that visualizes heart rate data into interactive charts that can be tagged with activities from your day, helping you identify what could contribute to spikes and dips in your heart rate.―The Mobile Indian
